Family Adventures Group Named Among The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work

Somerset-based childcare and leisure provider Family Adventures Group has been recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025, in a prestigious annual survey celebrating outstanding workplace culture, employee wellbeing, and professional development.

Conducted in partnership with data specialist WorkL, the Sunday Times awards highlight UK employers who go above and beyond to create supportive and engaging environments for their teams.

Only companies meeting rigorous engagement criteria are included—making this recognition a proud milestone for the Family Adventures Group team.

With 14 nurseries – including the Green Giraffe sites in Wales – and three indoor soft play centres across the South West and Midlands, Family Adventures Group supports over 210 employees who help deliver high-quality early years care and fun, family-friendly experiences.

“Being named among the UK’s best places to work is a fantastic honour,” said Laura Filer, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer.

“Our people are the heart of our business, and this award is a shared celebration of the passion, dedication, and innovation that drives us forward.”

The accolade reflects a year of transformative initiatives across the group.

These include flexible working pilots, a new Future Leaders Programme, and over 40 hours annually of continuous professional development through the group’s Apprenticeship Academy.

Enhanced benefits – many inspired directly by employee feedback – range from emergency childcare and hardship support to generous leave allowances and birthday holidays.

Perks like staff childcare discounts and inclusive wellbeing schemes support a culture where employees are encouraged to grow, thrive, and balance their professional and personal lives.

“Our goal has always been to create an environment where both children and team members can flourish,” added Filer.

“This recognition reinforces that when we listen, adapt, and invest in our people, everyone from our youngest learners to our wider communities benefits.”

The Sunday Times Best Places to Work awards are based on anonymous staff surveys and independent assessments of company policies, development opportunities, and overall employee satisfaction.

Looking ahead, Family Adventures Group plans to expand its career pathways, launch new mentoring schemes, and continue refining its people-first strategies – ensuring that the culture which earned this award not only continues but grows even stronger.
