We are open 7 days a week from 9.30am to 6pm. The only days we close are Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

How much is entry?

We have peak and off-peak prices, depending on whether it is school term time or not. You can see our prices here: https://oceanadventurers.com/pages/prices-and-opening-times. The entry price covers all play structures, including the role play village.

What are your busiest times?

First thing in the morning or after 2.30pm tend to be our quietest times. School term time is also a good time to visit if you can.

Will I have to wait to get in?

It is very unlikely. There may be a short queue to get in through reception as we take children’s shoes for health & safety and capacity monitoring purposes.

On rare occasions we can reach capacity. If this is the case we will make an announcement on our Facebook page. You can also ring us on 01934 743 200 to double check.

Last entry is 5pm every day.

FACILITIES

How do we get to you?

Our postcode is BS27 3EB. If you follow signs for the Kings leisure centre and recycling centre, we are in the business park that is on road just before/after this.

Do you have free parking?

Yes, we have a large number of spaces on site and there is also free on-road parking directly outside the centre.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Yes, we have baby changing in our two blocks of ladies’ toilets, in the men’s toilets and in the accessible changing places style toilet.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, we have card machines at all pay points that accept most major credit cards including American Express and also accepts contactless payments such as Apple Pay.

Can I breastfeed?

Yes, we are a breastfeeding friendly centre and if you would like more privacy, there is a bed in the accessible toilet that you may use.

Do you have air con?

Yes, and it’s really good! We’ve tested it on really really hot days and it keeps the place at a constant temperature, no matter the weather. We have 10 air con units in total to make sure the temperature is even across the whole of the centre as much as possible.

SAFETY & CLEANLINESS

How do you keep the centre clean?

We employ cleaners who clean the centre every day, including a rigorous cleaning regime for the play structures. You will also see our general staff cleaning tables, sweeping and mopping in general areas. We have a large scrubber-dryer machine that cleans and disinfects the floors on a regular basis.

We also use a process called fogging, which is used in a lot of hospitals to disinfect large open areas, the fogging equipment emits a fine mist of chemicals that disinfect every area they come into contact with, getting into every nook and cranny. The chemicals change structure when drying to become water and evaporating into oxygen so although they are very effective at disinfecting bugs, when dry they are completely harmless. This makes them 100% eco-friendly and child safe.

How do I know the centre is safe?

We have a child protection policy in place that ensures certain controls such as maglock-controlled or alarmed entry/exit points are in operation or that adults may not enter the premises without a child. Please do not be offended if you arrive on your own to meet family who are already in the centre and we ask you to get them to come out and meet you.

Our structure design complies with BS EN 1176 and is independently inspected every six months to make sure it is structurally sound and compliant with this standard. Our staff also carry out daily checks on the structure to ensure it is safe for use.

Soft plays by their nature are designed to encourage children to take risks in a controlled environment. Our centre is designed to make this process as safe and fun as possible. We have at least one member of staff that is trained in first aid during off-peak periods and two members of staff during peak days. We have staff trained in both paediatric and general first aid.

All of our staff are DBS checked.

My child’s been ill can I still visit?

We ask you not to visit if your child is ill. We also ask you to wait more than 48 hours if your child has experienced sickness or diarrhoea before visiting the centre.

Am I allowed to take photos or videos?

We allow pictures to be taken in centre as long as you do not photograph other children in your picture.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS

Do you offer sessions for SEND children?

We welcome children with additional needs at all times, but appreciate that some children may not be comfortable with a busy environment. We therefore have quieter session on Sunday mornings called our SENDay morning session, which runs from 9-10.30am. During this session capacity is restricted, lights are dimmed and music is turned off to avoid as much sensory stimulation as possible.

There is no need to pre-book this session.

What SEND facilities do you have?

We have a Changing Places style toilet with XY hoist system and adult sized changing bed. The room is large enough to fit a wheelchair plus two carers comfortably. Our café is upstairs and we don’t currently have a lift, but you can either order food and drink on your own mobile phone or a staff member will be happy to come to your table to take an order and deliver it to you.

We can also normally make chill out space available for any children that experience sensory overload. Just ask a member of staff who will be able to help.

We have also videoed a walkthough of the centre to help prepare your child for visiting Ocean Adventurers, which can be found here: https://oceanadventurers.com/pages/send-information
